About(KRG-HIS)
HIS refers to a system designed to manage health care data by collecting, storing, managing, and transmitting patients’ electronic medical records, as diagnoses, vaccinations, births, and deaths.
KRG-HIS is the first health information system in Kurdistan and whole Iraq, that provide reliable and regular information about the health situation of the population.
The system is activated in dozens of Public Health Centers and Hospitals distributed on the four governorates of Kurdistan region (Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Duhok and Halabja).
The Mission of the KRG-HIS project is to set up a high-quality epidemiological health surveillance system in the region, with the main objective of enabling the health authorities and professionals to collect, analyze and interpret health data, so to improve the quality of health services.
